What counts as proof of funds
The single most common reason verification comes back for more information is a document that shows a number without showing whose account it is. Here is what clears first time.
What we accept
- A full bank statement dated within the last 90 days.
- A brokerage or investment account statement, same window.
- A lender pre-approval or pre-qualification letter with an amount.
- A letter from your accountant confirming available funds.
- A combination of the above, if your capital sits in several places.
What we reject
- A screenshot of a balance. We need the full statement, all pages.
- Anything older than 90 days.
- A statement with the account holder name cropped or redacted.
- A valuation of an asset you have not sold, such as property or equity in another business.
- A verbal figure, or a number typed into your profile.
Black out transactions, account numbers and addresses if you want. Leave the account holder name, the institution, the date and the balance.
The name has to match
The account holder name must match the name on your Revanu profile and your government ID. If you are buying through a company or a trust, send the entity document showing you control it alongside the statement.
Financing instead of cash
You do not need the full purchase price in cash. A lender letter stating a pre-approved amount verifies you to that amount, and your profile shows the financing route rather than a liquid figure. Sellers read those differently, so say which you have.
How long it stays valid
Financial verification lasts 12 months because proof of funds goes stale. Renewing is one upload; your identity check stays on file. If a deal reaches conditions and your verification is more than 90 days old, expect the seller to ask for a fresh statement.
What the seller sees
A range and a date. Never a balance, never a document, never an institution name. Revanu does not store the statement after review.
Confirm the review turnaround, the retention policy for submitted documents, and which third party performs the review.
